This winter and spring, I had the delight of making cover art and interior spots for Cynthia Voigt’s upcoming Little Bird. It will be published September 15, and it’s a sort of coming-of-age novel about a young crow, for young readers. It’s full of beauty and humor and real life. (Though it’s fiction. I’m pretty sure the conversations between animals are invented.) I’ll do a website page for it closer to the pub date. In the meantime, here is what my bulletin board looked like when I had finished all the art:
And here’s what it looks like now:
I always feel a little lost after finishing a big project. The world I have made for myself has evaporated! Who am I now?
It’s tempting to dive right into something new. But I think it’s good to flounder, I mean, explore a little, before immersing. Let thoughts flit in and flit out, without grabbing on to them.
Lynne,
Sounds like you were really busy. How about a new novel? Hope you are staying well. Take care,
Mark
